For nearly 60 years, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas. The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. It also manages a network of around 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement.
The Role:
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will lead on the identification, cultivation and stewardship of corporate supporters of the Scottish Wildlife Trust. The position sits within the Development Team alongside colleagues focussing upon Individual Giving and Grants.
Main Objectives:
Research potential corporate partners for the charity (focussing upon businesses wholly/substantively based in Scotland, Scottish brands and/or the Scottish operations of (multi)nationals) and seek mechanisms for introductions.
Lead on corporate partnership assessment process to ensure due diligence checks are completed prior to accepting funds; collate background information, presenting to Management Team as required and record decisions in a central log.
Develop and promote corporate partnership offerings (including corporate membership scheme) which are attractive to businesses, optimise income against core activity and whose benefits can be easily delivered. Offerings to be co-developed with key colleagues including the Volunteer Development Officer (with regards to corporate volunteering opportunities).
Act as the first point of contact for corporate fundraising colleagues within the Wildlife Trust movement, sharing contacts and experience (as appropriate) and collaborating for the development of multi-nation/UK-wide partnerships.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record of cultivating, securing and successfully managing corporate relationships, an interest in nature conservation and a well-rounded general knowledge of the not-for-profit sector. We are looking for an individual who has a clear understanding of GDPR regulations, a grasp of the potential reputational risks associated with corporate partnerships and the need for clear contractual agreements. The candidate will ideally be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and virtual collaboration systems (Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint). The successful candidate will be highly organised, an effective communicator and capable of working on their own initiative (but within a team context) to develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
